The Pipili appliqué work (locally called Chandua) is one of Odisha’s most celebrated traditional handicrafts, renowned for its vibrant colours, intricate fabric appliqué, and rich cultural heritage. Handcrafted by skilled artisans using techniques passed down through generations, each Chandua is meticulously created by cutting, layering, and stitching colourful fabric pieces into striking motifs inspired by nature, mythology, and everyday life. More than a decorative textile, the Chandua is a symbol of Odisha’s artistic legacy and has long been associated with temples, festivals, and ceremonial occasions.

This applique work is made on demand and might take a bit longer for the artisans to complete since every part is carefully and meticulously assembled.
