Hello. I’m Prolita Pattanayak, founder of Aegirine.

My journey began during college when I discovered crochet as a hobby. What started as a creative pastime soon became a lesson in patience, craftsmanship, and the joy of creating something entirely by hand. It made me appreciate the remarkable ability of human hands to transform the simplest materials into something meaningful.

That experience inspired me to explore the much larger world of traditional handicrafts and contemporary handmade art. As I learned more, I discovered that every handmade creation carries a story—of skill, dedication, and the person behind it.

As I explored this world, I realised that while technology has made production faster, it has also made truly handmade work increasingly rare. Yet every handmade piece carries something machines cannot replicate—intention and a human touch. I wanted to create a space where the creations of traditional artisans and modern makers aren’t just admired, but genuinely valued and supported.

Every piece at Aegirine is thoughtfully handmade, carrying hours of patience, dedication, and care. My hope is that whenever you choose Aegirine, you’re choosing more than a product. You’re celebrating craftsmanship, supporting talented makers, and helping keep these beautiful art forms alive.
